A Grandparent's Love

It's Keli, I'm back in action. :) It's been hard keeping the blog updates going. Usually by the time we get back to our room at night we're pretty exhausted. Thanks to my hubby for contributing and keeping it going. Today was Mathew's first time being held in Grandma and Grandpa Norris' arms. What a moment to be treasured. The staff is pretty strict with the holding as far as who holds and how much, how often, etc. We weren't really sure what the guidelines would be or when it would happen, but both Gma. and Gpa. got in lots of cuddle time today. What a pleasant surprise and a huge blessing for Mathew and them both.

My parents had planned to be here for the originally scheduled c-section on March 11th. When things began progressing quickly that Sunday though, Mat called them to tell them they were taking the baby that night. Of course they were disappointed not to be there, but they waited with baited breath by the phone to hear that everyone was safe and sound, after the delivery. Hours went by though and they had a feeling something wasn't right. I can only imagine the worry and pain they were faced with that evening. By the time they got the call, the news wasn't good and their hearts ached for us and for Mathew. They left for FL the next morning and made it here on Tuesday March 10th. They've been amazingly supportive every minute since they've arrived. From taking care of our dogs, doing laundry, running errands, and tending to Mathew while we take a nap or lunch break, their presence has been extremely helpful and encouraging! These pictures were taken while Mat and I got a couple hour rest this afternoon.

Mat's parents are due to arrive this Sunday. We know that they too will enjoy bonding with Mathew and will also be so helpful to us as well. Hopefully they'll get to experience us bringing Mathew home and all that entails. We hope to have pics of them to post before long! :)

Grandparents are a blessing from God, as are children. I am so thrilled that they finally got to hold that little guy...I know they have been itching to! It is such a blessing that things keep heading in the right direction. Praise the Lord! djm

Keli,
I've been trying to find out how both of you were doing since I heard of Matthew's birth. Kathleen passed your blog onto me. I'm so glad he's doing better. I am thinking of you often and keeping you in my prayers. Hopefully you will have your baby boy home with you soon!
