Planning a "Babymoon?"
Until a couple days ago I had never even heard of the term "Babymoon." Am I the only one in the dark about this? I happened to be talking to my best friend on the phone telling her how Mat and I were trying to plan a long weekend get away over Labor Day weekend....sort of as a celebration that we'll both have graduated from grad school by then, Mat's birthday, and the pregnancy obviously. As I was explaining it she said, "Oh you mean like a babymoon?" She explained it's like a 2nd honeymoon but before the baby comes. I decided to get online and google the term and I couldn't believe all that was out there! So many resorts/bed n breakfasts, etc. have babymoon packages that cater to expecting parents. How cool!!!! We didn't get to travel at all this summer due to all the expenses and appointments with IVF, so Mat is really dying for a little time off. After checking into lots of options, we've found a nice resort in Miami we're leaning towards. It's a beautiful resort that is running a special for FL residents right now, so we could stay at a reduced rate. There are a lot of restaurants and shops all within walking distance and a spa on site! Hopefully we can make it happen over Labor Day and if not then we'll postpone it until Veteran's Day in November. This whole Babymoon thing sounds like a great philosophy to me!
