Blessed and Amazed

Well, "Blessed and Amazed" certainly sounds better than "Overwhelmed and Annoyed." Today was our first "regular" appointment with our OBGYN. Everything went well and I am feeling so amazed by the growth of our baby. We've officially graduated from embryo to fetus now. At our first ultrasound I was in awe, and this time was even more amazing! I couldn't believe how much the baby had grown and changed in just 2 weeks. It's little heart was beating at 162bpm. You could see the head, arms, and legs, and the little bun was just wiggling all around. I had no idea it would be so noticeable already. Our OB uses a 4D ultrasound machine, so he's really able to zoom in and get an up-close perspective already. So awesome! I'm having trouble scanning the latest picture, but I'll try again later. The doctor did notice a little "placenta separation." He assured us not to worry about it at all and that it occurs in about 30% of early pregnancies, but that it could cause some bleeding and just wanted me to be forewarned. I'll trust his word, but I'd be lying if it didn't worry me slightly. I'm sure it's just one more minor thing to remain faithful about and seek strength through prayer. Please continue to pray that this little baby will grow and prosper. I really draw strength from the prayers of others. We don't go back for our next appointment until the beginning of September. It's going to be hard getting used to only visiting the Dr. once a month for the time being. I'm so used to knowing every little detail and being checked so frequently, but overall it will probably allow me to relax more and begin enjoying a more normal pregnancy. Overall, I am just feeling so amazed by God's wonderful work and the growth of this baby and so blessed to be experiencing every little step along the way!

PS-For some reason the comments are being really slow to post. I am able to see them right away, but they don't show up on the blog until later. So, if you've left a comment and are wondering what the deal is--your guess is as good as mine. Hopefully it will catch up soon! Love to all!

I'm going to back track a few blogs...

1. Babymoon- you can babymoon in STL to visit our new little bundle of joy after September... see your new little niece/nephew... just a thought ;)

2. Venting is good and there will be plenty more when that is needed so don't bottle it in and explode on Matt if you don't have to.

3. Be glad the OB isn't anxious to see you again- that is positive! I'm so happy and excited for all your new experiences and discoveries- its all amazing even when it seems overwhelming and not so good... speaking from current experience!

Love you much- Sista Jess
