I couldn't help but post these two pictures together. Which face do you prefer? :) Just two of the expressions I see from my baby boy daily. The crying one was taken early evening time a couple nights ago as he was clearly an unhappy baby. The smiling picture was taken this morning right after waking, when he's usually very animated and alert. The last couple days have been H.A.R.D. No doubt about it. Yesterday he napped for a total of about an hour and a half to two hours. In between those short little naps it was mostly crying and constant nursing. At 8AM I was praying for strength and by 8PM I was drinking red wine. No joke. The night before that was pretty rough too. I knew he had to be sooo tired, but he just would not sleep for long. I'm not sure if his tummy was hurting or what the issue was...maybe a growth spurt? Sometimes I wish he came with an instruction manual. It would make things easier of course. But it doesn't work like that, so I kept trying every little trick I knew. Lots of swaddling, white noise, warm bath, walking, bouncing, rocking. Sometimes it worked and many times it didn't. It was just one of those days I guess. Once he finally konked out last night he slept like a champ and today has been better already, as obvious from the picture above. I certainly think he's the world's cutest baby when he smiles like that, don't you? ;)

I can almost hear him crying from that second picture! Hang in there grasshopper, you are doing well! djm
Joey had some days like that around 5 or 6 weeks. I remember pacing back and forth in a dark living room singing 80's music.
Hey anything to please a crying baby right.
I was exhausted and occasionally hoarse but he was happy and slept well after a 2a.m. serenade.
Grace did that too for awhile and nothing helped. We tried gas drops for babies that we got from my friend Valerie and she said that she bought it from Target. I don't really know if it works but somedays you will try almost anything to get them to stop crying. Red wine helps too! We miss you guys!
