Mathew's First Halloween

I have always loved Halloween. I can remember being a kid and going to school and being so excited all day long. We'd have a parade at school where we'd get to dress up in our costumes. Then, when I got home from school, my mom would always make us a big pot of soup and we'd fill up before trick or treating. As a teacher, I've enjoyed Halloween through my student's eyes and then have came home to make soup for Mat and I, before handing out candy from home. This year, I missed not being around students to celebrate Halloween, but we still had a great time and celebrated Halloween back in the cool fall weather once again. My college girlfriend, Shannon and her husband Mitch came to visit us from Chicago. We went out to breakfast and gave them a tour around Dubuque. The afternoon was spent watching football, napping, and of course making soup. After we filled our bellies, I got MJ dressed in his costume and we headed to Galena, Illinois for their annual Halloween Parade. It was chilly, but it was a perfect night! What a great parade, and MJ seemed to giggle and love it! Here's a a few photos of Mathew throughout the day. What a precious little pumpkin he is!

Excited to celebrate our 1st Halloween together as a family.

I still remember you the year you were the table! I thought that was the coolest costume ever! I've never been creative like that. Love MJ's photos! x, Mindy

That 3rd picture of him, close up frankie, is something. He almost looks like a little boy, not so much a baby (sorry Keli). And those baby blues....wow!

My vocabulary is not worthy...the joy in MJ's eyes just light up his beautiful face. The love and gratitude is reflected in his entire being. Thank you, God, for the miracle of this very, very special little baby boy! Mom/GiGi
