Apple Frenzy

What a gorgeous week we are having!  Yesterday was just too pretty to stay indoors, and after a weekend away with some girlfriends I was ready for some one on one time with my little guy.  I'd been dying to check out Czipar's apple orchard, which is about 15 minutes away.  It wasn't quite what I expected, but we still had an amazing time!  I was hoping for somewhere we could walk and pick our own apples, but it wasn't like that.  It's a family run business for the last 49 years and they already had all the apples picked and ready to purchase.  We took our time looking around at all the apples, apple cider, apple butter, etc. etc. The owner gave MJ his own apple.  He was way to busy attempting to bite into his apple to smile for my picture attempts, but he was so eager to sit on the little tractor.  It was so cute!

Then, it was off for some lunch (good ole McD's every now and then) to take to the park where we had a picnic lunch and then played at the playground.  MJ also decided it would be fun to chase squirrels.  At first it was cute until he was getting WAY far away from me and my pregnant butt couldn't keep up.  He did sleep awfully well for nap time though.  ;)

Then, we took our stash of apples home and got busy cooking.  First we cooked crock pot applesauce.  After nap time we made an apple cake.  He really loves to help cook!  He's quite a good little helper too, but I just have to take a deep breath and realize it's going to get very messy.

Helping put all the chopped apples into the crock pot

All our apples ready to be cooked.  What's a good chef without a little licking of the spoon?

So thankful for this beautiful fall day spent with my son.  I am beyond blessed to be able to spend this time with him and create these memories.  As excited as I am to welcome our baby girl this winter, I enjoy these little moments just the two of us even more knowing that they will soon become a bit less frequent.
