28 Weeks!

Well, helloooo there 3rd trimester!  I hit the 28 week mark last week, and it's hard to believe the 3rd trimester is here.  Luckily I am feeling better and better the further along I get.  I'm starting to get a bit more tired now, but the heartburn and nausea has definitely let up, I've had pretty good energy, and I am a hungry girl!

Our little girl is measuring right on track.  My belly measured right at 28cm. last week at my appointment.  I had the standard blood test to check for gestational diabetes as well as check my iron levels, and everything came back fine.  Woot woot!  Given my sweet tooth lately, I was a bit worried about the blood test, but so glad that all is well.  The weight is starting to pack on a bit more quickly.  I think I'm up about 16 pounds now and some of my maternity tops are getting too snug.  She weighs near 2 1/2 pounds at this point and is around 15 inches long.  Her eyes can open and close and she even has little eyelashes, or so I read.  :)

The beginning of this pregnancy was much rougher than with MJ, but I've now reached that point of feeling good and saying "I love being pregnant" again!  Besides waking up a lot to go to the bathroom and trying to get comfortable in bed, the rest is so enjoyable!  I love feeling her move all the time.  I love seeing my belly grow, and I love preparing for her arrival.

Speaking of her arrival, we only have about 10 weeks to go if we go with a repeat c-section.  My doctor finally received the reports from my last c-section that he was waiting on in order to tell us if a VBAC was in the cards for us or not, and it is an option if we'd like to try for it.  Lots of thoughts on that, which is a whole other post, but definitely some thinking to do.

We toured the hospital last week, and I was very pleased to see where she would be born.  I'm getting so excited about her arrival, the birth at Christmas time, and bringing our baby girl home before too long!

Praying and hoping for a healthy and uneventful 10 weeks ahead!
