Another Week Down!

Today I had my 9 week health history appointment.  I would have loved to have another ultrasound for some reassurance that there is still a strong heartbeat, but unfortunately this appointment didn't include that.  The good news though is that things at least SEEM to be progressing, and I have no reason to think otherwise.  I wish my nerves would get on board with that though!  Today's  appointment was pretty low-key...It just included a nurse and I and just lots of questions about my medical history and previous pregnancies.  They seemed to think it was a good sign that I am experiencing the "top 3" as they called it...sore boobs, fatigue, and nausea.  Then it was off for lab work.  Oh, and given our history they recommended a repeat C-section unless I really wanted to try for a VBAC, and also assured me this baby will be delivered at least a week early!  No risking what happened last time, which they were so surprised was even allowed to happen (that's a whole other story, though).

We'll go back in two weeks for our first full appointment with the OB.  At that time, they'll listen for a heartbeat with the Doppler.  Can. not. wait!!  They sure like to schedule things in advance here at this practice, which is fine, but just different than what I had been used to in FL when pregnant with MJ.  They've already scheduled the next several appointments, including the 20 week ultrasound where we can find out the gender, if we choose (August 10th), which could be a fun end to the summer months.

I've felt slightly better this week.  The nausea seems much more controllable.  Still a really weird appetite and lots of food aversions, kind of moody and a bit down in the dumps feeling keeps lingering.  I feel like my tummy is starting to pop out and round out a bit already.  I really wanted to hold off on any maternity clothes until that 12 week appointment when I gained some final reassurance, but I have a feeling I'm not going to last that long.  Yesterday at work I felt like it was already looking quite obvious that I was sporting a bit of a baby bump!  My pants are getting super uncomfortable. I think it's mostly bloat, but I feel super thick around the middle and like my waist is quickly disappearing.  I have a feeling I'll be debuting some flowy shirts and elastic waists before long.  ;)
