Mat's great grandma passed away late last night. It's been so long since I have had a great grandparent alive, that it's hard to believe Mat's great grandma has been going strong ever since I've known him. She was definitely full of personality, loved life, and adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a great run, and lived to celebrate her 100th birthday! How many people can say that?! While it's hard to say goodbye no matter when it is, I think her entire family will definitely agree that this is a celebration of life if there ever was one. Her husband passed many years ago, and unfortunately she lost an adult son to Leukemia. I hope that upon meeting her Maker, she was welcomed with open arms by her husband and son as well. The mother in me can only imagine how much she must have been looking forward to that.
I know MJ won't remember his great great grandma, but I am so thankful that he had the chance to meet her a few times during his first year of life. I look forward to sharing pictures with him and telling him lots of stories about her!
