Life is Good!

Despite my occasional (okay maybe constant) complaining about feeling fat and tired, life is really oh-so-good. It just seems as the stars are all aligning so to speak. God is so good....He gives us the strength to somehow make it through our struggles. Just a little over a couple months ago I was feeling so nervous and overwhelmed with the fertility treatments and grad school-for both Mat and I. Now, just a short time later I'm enjoying pregnancy and so pleased to say we are both officially done with school. Mat wrapped his up over a month ago and I finally completed my capstone project last weekend and just got word this morning that it was approved and I am now a graduate! Hallelujah! I can't even begin to explain what a relief it is not to have to work on homework during nights/weekends and spend many nights alone while Mat is at school. We have so much more time together now, it's wonderful! The timing couldn't be better because it now seems like we really get to enjoy this special time together and savor all the moments of pregnancy. All the stress was so worth it.

Mat and I officially became an aunt and uncle last night. Mat's sister, Jessica, gave birth to Brian James. Poor thing was so ready to have that baby! I'm dying to see pictures soon and hear that all is well. Yeaaa for the Cochran family! Can't wait to make it home in a couple months to meet him.

As we wrap up our 14th week, this baby (and my belly) seem to be growing strong! I sure do feel BIG by the end of the day. It must be bloating or something b/c in the morning it just looks like a bump and by night time I feel ginormous. Yesterday I had a little breakdown as I couldn't seem to come up with anything that fit, so after work I took a little trip to Target and happily bought some new comfy maternity tops and a pair of capris. Needless to say getting ready for work this morning went much smoother. :) The baby developments during this week are that the baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee (i prefer not to think about that one too much), and possibly suck his thumb. How awesome! I'm already looking forward to the next glimpse of Baby Keyes but praying that he/she is staying nice and cozy in the meantime.

Congrats on finishing your masters degree! I remember how good that felt! So happy to hear that you are doing well! It must be getting more and more exciting everyday to be closer to being a mommy. Take care!

Keli,

Just a note to say: actually, you ARE a mommy, now, already. And, who, boy, Teacher of the Year, your master's degrees and a first child. When it rains, it pours! What is that Bible verse that says, "Test me and see what blessings I will pour into your cup; so much, it will be overflowing!" Indeed, it seems your cup(s) overfloweth! God's blessings are so obvious just now; really, how wonderful for you both! Love, Dee Mullen
