Apparently I have been too busy (or too lazy, whatever) to post much lately. We have definitely kept busy this summer with exploring Dubuque, having family and friends visit, and just spending time together as a family. Even despite it all though, I had been desperately missing girlfriends and was in need of some girl time. Not having any friends around here has definitely been the hardest part of adjusting to life in Iowa. Luckily all it took was a phone call to my dear friend Kelley with an invitation to come visit, and off to Iowa she came within a week! She has three children of her own, so I know it's not easy for her to get away, but I know we both really enjoyed the time together!
Unfortunately, I recently dropped one of my cameras and lost all of the pictures on it, so this is the one picture I have to document our time together. It was quite funny, because we had went and gotten pedis, manis, and our hair styled when it started downpouring right before we left the salon. We got soaked and were slip sliding around with our greased up feet, but we were determined to protect the hair! So here we are showing off our new, but slightly damp 'do's.
Besides running in rainstorms we made time for some shopping, eating and drinking, and sightseeing around Dubuque and Galena. Good friends are definitely a blessing!

Yes indeed - a girl needs her girls! Families are great, but everyone needs a girlfriend or two! I'm so happy you were able to fill up your soul with some much needed girl time! x, Mindy
