10 Weeks to Go!

I know I sound like a broken record, but it's really hard to believe that there are only 10 weeks to go, give or take! So exciting! The month ahead will be full of baby showers, room decorating, and beginning childbirth classes. As we embark on the 30 week mark, our little boy is becoming quite an active one. His soft kicks and punches have turned into karate moves! He seems to be readjusting himself a lot too. Most of the time I still feel pretty comfortable, but occasionally he seems to move really low and no matter what I do or how many times I run to the bathroom I swear he is just doing a balancing act on my bladder. At this point, our book tells us that his brain is developing rapidly and starting to take over more and more of his bodily functions. Time to be eating some good brain food for him I guess! He should be right around 3 pounds and 17 inches long.

This picture was taken on Christmas Eve, right before heading to the doctor. We met the other doctor in the practice and we really liked her as well! Mom got to accompany us in and hear the heartbeat, which was really special. The doctor guessed by the looks of my tummy that the baby was already head down, but said he still had time to be turning around in there. My blood pressure was still good as well as all the other vitals and weight gain seemed to be right on track. We go back next week for our regular check-in. At 36 weeks we'll have our final ultrasound and get an idea of how big he is. I can't wait to see him and see how much he's grown!

Our Christmas was a good one! It was pretty low-key, but relaxing and enjoyable. Christmas Eve was spent with a doctors appointment, some walking around Celebration, a quick trip to Gaylord Palms, and then dashing around trying to find somewhere to eat dinner! It was quite comical! Everywhere we tried to make reservations was a flop and it was just seeming not to be so we ended up back in Lakeland, but still had a very delicious meal before making it to church. Christmas Day was spent at our house opening presents, watching movies, and eating dinner. Even though this little baby hasn't made his way into the world yet, he already received some presents! All of our parents gave us money which is very useful in offsetting some of the recent baby expenses, Uncle Jeff bought him a baseball toy chest and diaper bag off our registry and Mat and I each got him a few small things like books and Cardinals gear of course! Just imagine what next Christmas will be like!

I hope that each and everyone had a safe and blessed Christmas! It's always amazing how fast it comes and goes. Mat didn't really get any time off this Christmas except for Christmas Day, but he's still been doing his best to enjoy the evenings and weekends with the family. Poor guy! I'm lucky enough to have one more week off work! My parents have decided to extend their stay a little bit until Friday so we're looking forward to ringing in the New Year with them as well!

Keli - You look beautiful as usual! 10 weeks will go by so fast and little Keyes will be here before you know it. I am glad you had a wonderful Christmas with the family and hope you have a great New Years!

Love you,
Meg

just beware of the weight estimation. i can tell you from my most recent experience that even the ultrasound can't always accurately predict the weight! no one thought we had a 10 pounder popping out (and come to think of it, they didn't think jack was as big as he ended up being either!).

i can't believe you only have 10 weeks left either. it'll fly by!
