We ended up staying a day longer in STL than planned. There was some dicey weather we knew we'd be driving through, and to be honest we were just tired, and my parents offered to babysit for us if we wanted to go out on New Year's Eve, and who can turn that down? We were both really wanting to see Les Miserables and had been longing for a date, so off we went! We discovered an awesome new, or newly done I should say, movie theater in St. Louis...leather recliners, full menu service, wine and beer...ahh, now that's my way to watch a movie! Annnnyways, the whole point is we stayed a bit longer, so what was supposed to be our New Year's morning/belated Christmas morning back home with the kiddos was postponed a day. Good thing they certainly don't know the difference yet. Leaving all the family after the holidays is always a bit sad, so knowing we have one more Christmas celebration awaiting when we get home makes it seem a bit more exciting.

I felt kind of guilty when I put their piles of gifts out. Charlotte clearly looked jipped compared to her big brother. It was about two weeks later, than Mat found some of her gifts that I had hidden behind the couch and forgot to put out. Oops! Ha!

The rest of the day we spent in our pj's just playing with all the kid's new toys, unpacking, and enjoying some family time. We were so blessed with a wonderful Christmas season in 2012!
