My Red-Haired Cutie

Love this pic I snapped yesterday!  MJ had went to get his hair cut with Mat.  It's a favorite daddy/son activity.  They go together and then go to lunch and kind of make a date of it.  The last couple times he's discovered that they have some cool colored gel they can put in his hair.  Loving the red faux hawk!  :)

Besides his cute new 'do, MJ came home yesterday afternoon with his mailbag from school.  They bring home their mailbag each Wednesday which always has the class newsletter and any other important papers in it.  MJ was featured in his teacher's newsletter as completing the living/non-living work for the week.  There are four pics of him completing the activity, and in each picture he has a nice cheesy grin.  I love all that he learns at school!  Sometimes I feel kind of guilty for not thinking to teach some of the concepts myself.  Honestly, although we've talked about things like grass and trees needing water, sunshine, etc., I don't think we've specifically discussed the difference between living and non-living. This is just one example of course, but sometimes I think I underestimate what he is able to know and understand already.  He's like a little sponge right now!  This week was progress report week.  This was his first progress report of the year, and he brought home a great one!  There are three categories:  mostly, sometimes, and seldom.  MJ received "mostly" for every category on his report except for one.  We gotta work on controlling his body apparently.  ;)  I'm truly not bragging, but I just want to be sure to document these moments, and yes indeed, we are super proud of our little guy!  His teacher had sweet comments to write including what loving relationships MJ has with his peers and how much he respects his teacher.  He commented that he loves art (he brings home multiple paintings each week)!  He admitted he sometimes gets distracted by watching others, but with a reminder he is able to get right back on task.

Go, MJ!  We love you....you're rocking preschool and that red faux hawk.  xoxo
