A Weekend of Firsts

Besides Mathew's very first trip to the beach, he also had a couple other "firsts" this past weekend....

On Friday, we headed to Tampa to meet MJ's Great Aunt Linda for the first time. My aunt is a flight attendant and every once in awhile she happens to have a layover in Tampa. MJ and I met up with Uncle Jeff and made our way to her hotel. We were able to have a few hours to visit with her and eat lunch and of course let her get in some cuddle time with the little guy. Aunt Linda has faced some extremely huge health challenges this past year and we are thankful to have her in our lives and now Mathew's life as well. Here was their first meeting.

To add to our exciting weekend, we took Mathew for his 3 month photos which were his first professional photos. When his picture was taken in the hospital before his discharge, it was quite an event. He cried every time you set him down and the photographer told us it was the first time ever that she had to have the parents in the portrait just so that she could get a good shot. Needless to say we weren't overly excited about his next photo op! But I must say that this experience was a pleasant surprise and we had so much fun! We just took him to Sears down the road but they did a great job. She was extremely patient and silly with him and luckily was able to coax a few great smiles. Mat was sitting on one side of him propping him under the sheet and I was on the other side just in case he would topple and he kept looking back and forth from side to side at Mat and I. It was really cute. He just kind of stared at the photographer with his Mr. Serious look that he gives quite often, but luckily patience paid off and a few smiles and giggles made their appearance. We went in with a coupon for $4.99 for 36 pics and came out spending $120. Ha! Suckers?...Yup! We love our cutie, what can we say! Here's a couple of our little guy's first professional baby photos.

It's hard to choose a favorite & I love his smiles, but that 1st photo takes the cake! Those big beautiful blue eyes - a lady's man already! I'm so glad to hear your Aunt got to meet MJ & you guys got to spend some quality time together, what a treasure! x, Mindy

Looks like you got your money worth in pictures. If the rest turned out just as cute as those 4 did then your set. He is just adorble Keli!
